CERec
The UAB has a Research Ethics Committee (CERec), created by the Governing Council on 20 October 1994, which provides support for scientific research carried out at the UAB.
CERec functions
- To evaluate animal testing procedures (task carried out by the Animal Experimentation Ethics Committee (CEEA).
- To evaluate procedures that include experimentation or research involving humans.
- To advise research staff on the ethical dimension of research, through training and dissemination activities.
The CERec promoted the agreement of the Governing Council of 30 January 2013, approving the Code of Good Practice in Research (CBPR), which promotes a set of recommendations to guarantee rigour, honesty and responsibility in the research carried out at the UAB.
The Committee has also been a member of the Network of Ethics Committees of Spanish Universities (RCE) since it was set up.
