Professional development courses
Organised by the School for Doctoral Studies
The UAB has a Code of Good Practices in Research (CBPR) that contains a set of guidelines for action, recommendations and commitments on carrying out research activities, including the training and supervision of young researchers.
This course presents the fundamental values that guide research at the UAB (freedom, honesty and responsibility) as well as good practices in each of the different dimensions of research (projects, data management, research groups, publications, transfer to society).
It is a practical course that includes useful case studies.
In this training course the UAB Code of Good Practices in Research will be presented, as well as the European Data Protection Regulation, and the necessary actions to adequately cover these dimensions in doctoral research will be evaluated. This training is aimed at coordinator/s of doctoral programmes at the UAB.
Objectives
-
To incorporate the recommendations of the Code of Good Practices in Research and the European Data Protection Regulation in research carried out in UAB doctoral programmes.
-
To present the Code of Good Practices to the coordinators of UAB doctoral programmes.
-
To assess which actions are particularly important in each of the programmes.
-
To agree on a set of actions common to all doctoral programmes.
The aim of this programme is to convey their responsibilities as future scientists to early career researchers, including awareness of and ability to address issues related to research integrity and research ethics in a broader sense while at the same time, promoting responsible research.
Early career researchers will have the opportunity to learn ethical principles and apply them to the problems they will encounter during their professional activity as researchers.
