The mission of the Department of Media, Communication and Culture is to organise teaching and research in the fields that correspond to their organisation.

In the area of teaching, the department is responsible for the subjects taught on courses organised by different faculties of the UAB and, in particular, the Faculty of Communication. The department organises and carries out teaching on PhD and postgraduate courses.

As a basic research unit it promotes the research and knowledge transfer initiatives and activities of its own academic staff and offers them support.
