PhD in Mathematics

UAB's Mathematics department is renowned for producing excellent mathematicians and has a PhD programme with national and international recognition that attracts many foreign students. 

This PhD programme aims to train researchers in basic Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Statistics so that they are able to carry out quality research which will enable them to join new groups with autonomy and even create new research groups.

The main component in the PhD is the advancement of scientific knowledge through original research. Today PhDs are expected to lead transfer from basic knowledge to the welfare of society as a whole.

Our goal is to achieve professional recognition and social prestige for our PhDs based on high levels of quality, internationalisation, innovation and mobility.
