Pedro Pascual Collection
Collection of Documents of Dr Pedro Pascual de Sans (1934–2006)
Dr Pedro Pascual de Sans was a Catalan physicist born in Seville, who served as a professor at the University of Valencia from 1963 to 1971 and later at the University of Barcelona from 1971 onwards. His collection is one of the most significant personal scientific archives in the history of Spanish physics and contemporary scientific policy.
Collection description: The collection includes 1,408 pieces of miscellaneous correspondence from Dr Pascual spanning the years 1962 to 2002; extensive administrative documents related to the Interuniversity Group of Theoretical Physics (G.I.F.T.), the Academic Committee of the University of Barcelona, the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation, the Barcelona Science Park , and other institutions; as well as 43 handwritten notes on various physics topics. In total, the collection comprises over 3,400 documents reflecting Dr Pascual's extensive contributions to teaching, administration, research in physics, and scientific policy.
These documents are held by the Centro de Ciencias de Benasque Pedro Pascual, which has authorised the digitisation and dissemination of this archive. The description of the documents is based on the inventory and cataloguing carried out by the Science Archives Service.
