Otto Wilhem Gutzwiller Collection

Otto Wilhelm Gutzwiller (1889–1958), born in Switzerland, was a geologist specialising in petrology. He worked as a geological consultant in Spain, as well as in Venezuela and Peru.

Having spent considerable time in Catalonia, he became well-acquainted with the geological region of Blanes, where the current Botanical Garden was established on a granitic site from the Upper Carboniferous period.

Collection description: His personal archive includes 86 geological works, both his own and those by other geologists, and is on loan from the Stratigraphy Unit, Department of Geology.
