The joint exhibition “The Honorary Doctors of the UAB” will be open for visits from February to March, beginning on 10 February. It will be displayed at the libraries of Science and Technology Library, the Medical Library (including the Vall d'Hebron Hospital Campus Library and the Josep Laporte Library), the Communication and General Newspaper Archives, the Veterinary Library, and the Sabadell University Library. The Humanities and Social Sciences libraries will join the exhibition from 3 March.
A virtual version of the exhibition will also be available, featuring all the content presented in the physical displays. This includes general information on all honorary doctorates awarded by the UAB, a poster celebrating the honoured women, and biographical and bibliographic materials for each honouree, aligned with the thematic focus of each library.
However, in the Veterinary and Sabadell University libraries, as well as in the teaching units, only the general section of the exhibition will be available, as none of the honorary doctors at UAB have been nominated by the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, the Faculty of Medicine, or the Sabadell University Campus (which includes the Faculty of Economics and Business and the School of Engineering).
As part of the La Tarima events, the exhibition will be officially inaugurated at the Science and Technology Library on Tuesday, 11 February, the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. The opening event will feature a roundtable discussion on honorary doctors in the scientific and technological fields, with Professors Montserrat Llagostera (Faculty of Biosciences), María Josefa Yzuel (Faculty of Sciences), Núria Barniol (School of Engineering), and Professor Xavier Roqué (Institute for the History of Science).
We invite you to explore the UAB libraries, visit the exhibition, and participate in the #February11 celebrations!
