Half a year has passed since the launch of ARE+, the new authentication and access system to the UAB Digital Library, and the community of users who use the new system is growing steadily.

Computer with a number and interconnected data

During this time ARE+ has coexisted with the previous version, ARE, which many users still use, but at the end of January ARE will be definitively disabled; and users who still use it will no longer be able to access the Digital Library.

It is urgent that you switch to the new ARE+ version. How can you detect if you are using the old version of ARE?

  • Links to are.uab.cat: If the links to access the editorial platforms include this particle, you are using the old version of ARE. Examples:
    • https://onlinelibrary-wiley-com.are.uab.cat/
    • https://link-springer-com.are.uab.cat/
  • Browser favourites: Check the links saved in ‘Favourites’ and make sure they do not contain the are.uab.cat particle.
  • Bibliography: Make sure that the bibliography you provide to #students and classmates does not contain links to are.uab.cat.
  • Browser configuration: Check the configuration of the browser you use and make sure that it is not configured to add are.uab.cat to the links.

How to replace the old version of ARE with ARE+:

  1. Obtain valid URLs: Go to the Digital Library's Cercador to obtain URLs with the new ARE+ version. Access to the Search Engine.
  2. Install ARE+: Go to the ARE+ information page and follow the instructions to install the new version in your usual browser. ARE+ information page.
  3. Installation tutorial: Follow the installation tutorial to ensure a smooth transition. See tutorial.

Remember that, at the end of January, the old version of ARE will be deactivated definitively. Make sure you switch to ARE+ to continue accessing electronic resources and the UAB Digital Library without interruption!
