Management and organisation

Mission
The UAB Libraries contribute to the university community's objectives by providing value-added services and high-quality information in both digital environments and physical spaces that facilitate learning, research, and co-creation.

Vision
The UAB Libraries are essential partners in knowledge generation within the research and learning ecosystem. We offer a digital and physical environment that promotes collaboration among the various members of the university community and facilitates the transfer of knowledge to society.

Values
The core principles of our activities are:

  • User Orientation: Meeting the needs and expectations of our users is at the heart of everything we do.
  • Continuous Improvement: Excellence is achieved through teamwork, collaboration with other libraries, innovation, and a systematic pursuit of greater efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Responsibility and Social Commitment: We act with ethics and institutional integrity, ensuring maximum respect for diversity, inclusion, and sustainability in all our actions.

To support study, teaching, research, and the transfer of knowledge in the social and cultural spheres, the libraries of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona are equipped with a significant collection of documentary resources and qualified staff.

The management of the service is overseen by the director, the heads of the Technical Unit of Projects, the various libraries, and the coordinators of transversal processes.

Users are represented in the General Committee of Users, and each library has its own user committee.

We regularly monitor quality indicators and subject them to both internal and external reviews and controls.

We are open and committed to serving our users, listening to their requests, suggestions, criticisms, and compliments.
