John Murra-ICA Collection

The book collection of Ukrainian-American anthropologist John Murra (1916–2006) is owned by the Catalan Institute of Anthropology (ICA), which has deposited it at the Humanities Library. The transfer was coordinated by Professor Verena Stolcke from the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology at the UAB, in her role as president of the ICA.

This collection, which is part of his research library, was sold to the ICA by its owner in 1988. It consists of over 1,500 highly specialised works on anthropology, with a focus on African and Andean cultures.
