Ferran Sunyer Collection
Ferran Sunyer i Balaguer was born in Figueres in 1912 and passed away in Barcelona in 1967. He was affected by severe paralysis from birth, which prevented him from attending school. His close bond with his cousins fostered a shared cultural growth, which eventually led him to develop a keen interest in physics, astronomy, and mathematics.
In 1938, he published his research in Comptes rendus, the journal of the Académie des Sciences in Paris. From then on, he maintained regular contact with the French School of Analysis, particularly with Mandelbrojt and his disciples.
