Concepció Zendrera Children's Literature Collection

Concepció Zendrera (1919-2020) was one of the most influential children's book publishers of the 20th century in our country. She was the daughter of Josep Zendrera Fecha, who founded Editorial Joventut in 1923, and she oversaw the children's section of the publishing house from the post-war period until well into the democratic era.

Through Professor Teresa Colomer, Chair of Literature Didactics, and the GRETEL group (Research Group on Books for Children and Youngsters and Literacy Learning) at UAB, she donated part of her collection of children's books to the Humanities Library. This collection includes children's works from both local and international sources that are not available in any other state library, as well as editorial proofs of books that have become classics.
