Carme Bofarull Estarlich Music Collection

Carme Bofarull Estarlich donated a small but very interesting collection of music books to the Humanities Library, consisting of around twenty books from the personal library of her grandfather, the composer Salvador d'Horta Bofarull (1856-1931). Among the documents, there is a copy of the eight volumes of Biographie universelle des musiciens… (1866-1868) by F. J. Fétis, as well as various treaties from the 19th century. 

The manuscript portion of the collection was donated to the Public Episcopal Library of the Major Seminary of Barcelona (BPESMB) and contains autograph manuscripts by Anselm Barba, Salvador d'Horta Bofarull, Magí Pontí, Joan Sariols, and Ramon Vilanova, as well as a copy of F. J. Haydn's Stabat Mater from Santa Maria del Mar.
