Study the psychological processes involved in the emergence and maintenance of disorders related to externalized / disinhibited behaviors (especially difficult temperamental traits, conduct disorders and Cluster B personality disorders), individual differences in vulnerability to these disorders and their neurobiological and neuropsychological foundations.
Our main research interest is the study of externalizing behaviors in children/adolescents from a multidimensional perspective and the characterization of its development and heterogeneity. Our group has been focused these last 3 years in the establishment of a community longitudinal cohort of female and male children from Sabadell (Catalonia). The cohort started during the academic year 2022-23 when children were 6-7 years old. Through the schools, main caregivers and teachers informed about mental health indexes and risky temperamental traits of the children. Some of these families were recruited to take part of laboratory studies to evaluate familiar, cognitive, emotional and biological correlates of the typologies and trajectories of mental health. Results will provide information to guide preventive and therapeutic strategies from a gender perspective.
