Animal surgery in the nervous system

1. Performing stereotaxic and general surgeries.
2. Support for users during the design and execution of surgical protocols.
3. Training for students and researchers in the design, implementation and monitoring of a surgical protocol in all phases of surgery, from cannula design to post-operative control.
4. Face-to-face and virtual advice on the topics mentioned above.

1. Implantation and design of site-directed cannulas and electrodes by pharmacology, optogenetics or electrophysiology.
2. Site-directed drug administration in moving and anesthetized animals.
3. Stereotaxic injections of drugs, AAV, or site-directed cell cultures.
4. General surgery protocols (gonadectomies, cannulation of blood vessels, implantation of devices, etc.).
5. In vivo and ex vivo tissue collection.

• Stereotaxic Digital Lab Standard (Stoelting) with rat frame.
• Mouse adapter for stereotaxic.
• Rat and mouse masks for gas anesthesia.
• Thermal blanket with rectal probe.

INc-UAB members will have preference over non-members and within these groups, those who have not previously used the laboratories or common equipment will have preference over those who have done so recently. Another important parameter will be the order of receipt of requests and the technician's possibility of interspersing them with other requests.
