Grant of the research project CALIB-FIRE
Albert Pèlachs (PI1) and Anna Badia (PI2) will lead the project.
The project "Holocene fires in the shaping of open spaces in the mountains of the Northern Peninsula. Tools for fire management in protected areas (CALIB-FIRE)" has been granted by the Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities.
With a duration of 4 years, the project aims to provide territorial managers of Protected Natural Areas (PNA) with tools for the characterization, monitoring, and tracking of open spaces, while discussing the role of fires and the use of fire as either a risk or a solution for maintaining biodiversity and natural and environmental values.
