Successful workshop on data visualization and cartographic practices with a gender perspective
On May 6 and 8, the renowned postdoctoral researcher at Pompeu Fabra University, Núria Font, gave a workshop focused on data visualization and cartographic practices applied to geographic research with a gender perspective.
The main objective of the workshop was to explore the potential of visual and cartographic tools for research in geography and gender, regardless of the level of knowledge in GIS and data visualization. The first day focused on creative visual and cartographic practices, while the second day focused on digital innovations and tools for collecting, processing and visualizing geographic data. Limitations and alternative proposals for leveraging these technologies for gender-sensitive research were discussed, with hands-on exercises using a variety of tools and platforms. The workshop provided an enriching space for participants to acquire new knowledge and skills to apply in their research projects, and contributing to a more reflective advancement in the field of geography with a gender perspective.
