AEInnova celebrates 10 years with two awards as an innovative company
During this past November, AEInnova, a spin-off company from UAB, has been awarded the 2024 award for best Start-up Deep Tech at the Barcelona Deep Tech Summit and has received the Innovation Radar award from the European Commission in the sustainable technology category.
AEInnova works to transform waste heat into electricity. With the aim of making high-energy-demand industries more sustainable and digital, this company has developed wireless industrial sensors for predictive maintenance powered by waste heat.
The company was founded just ten years ago by several researchers from the Department of Microelectronics at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and is currently considered a key innovative company in the EU for autonomous IoT sensors.
AEInnova has more than 30 international awards. This November, it was awarded as the Best Deep Tech Start-up 2024 at the third edition of the Barcelona Deep Tech Summit for its commitment to reducing the environmental impact of energy-intensive industries. And it has also won the Innovation Radar award from the European Innovation Council and the Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EISMEA) of the European Commission in the sustainable technology category. These awards are given annually to major innovators funded by the EU, highlighting high-potential innovations that are trying to move out of the laboratory and into the market.
