Awards and competitions

In-home competition to promote the generation of ideas and the communicative competencies of the student body. To participate, one must send a 90-second video explaining an entrepreneurial idea. An expert jury evaluates the proposal and selects the finalists, who have to present their pitch to the public, in front of the same jury and the rest of the contestants. Eventually, the three best will receive a surprise trip and assessment to develop the project.

Competition directed towards both students and alumni. During a morning, the contestants will break into multidisciplinary teams to create ideas to answer challenges to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); they do so following the design thinking methodology with the help of different artificial intelligence tools. An expert jury chooses the best proposals, and the winning teams will take home an award.

The Cathedra on Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation, attached to the Centre d’Estudis i de Recerca en Emprenedoria i Innovació Social (CREIS) de la UAB, convenes anually to award the Premis eines to the best projects for social transformation in general, in the Vallès region, and locally. The lines of action of the candidate projects have to be framed, at least, in one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations General Assembly.

These awards were created by the Centre d’Iniciatives Emprenedores Universitàries (CIEU) directed towards the UAB student body, particularly to the FUAB Formació School (Tourism and Hotel Management, Prevention and Integral Security, and Archiving and Document Management). It has two categories: the best entrpreneur and the best entrepreneurial idea.
