welcome Session
Welcome Session and Inaugural Lecture

We wish to invite you to the inaugural session of our doctoral program on November 6 from 10:30 to 13:00 h at Room P-24 (B5C/011), located at the entrance corridor separating the Lletres and Psychology Faculties.
The session will convey information about the program’s academic year and procedures, presentation of first-year doctoral students, queries and comments.
It also includes the Inaugural Lecture with Amrish Nair, entitled “On Both Sides of the Atlantic: Navigating Doctoral Research on Race and Colonial Pasts in the Global Academy”.
Amrish Nair is a doctoral candidate at Johns Hopkins University. His research interests lie at the intersections of religious difference in the Mediterranean, Colonial America, race and international politics, and is embedded in historical methods and contemporary critical discourse. He has held teaching positions at JHU, and his research has been funded by short-term grants. Amrish Nair will be visiting the department for the month of November, so he will be available for any queries you may wish to ask about your research.
Looking forward to coming together and seeing you all there!
