Student María Paola Ayala wins Crue #HiloTesis contest
Student of the PhD programme in Geography at the UAB María Paola Ayala Godoy has won the #HiloTesis contest and will receive a cash prize of 500 euros. Crue Universidades Españolas has awarded 5 other prizes to students.
The UAB renews its HR Excellence in Research
The European Commission has awarded the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona the renewal of the HR Excellence in Research label in the framework of the EURAXESS initiative. The HR Excellence in Research logo identifies European organisations that work to achieve a better research environment in accordance with the European Charter for Researchers, especially with regard to people and working conditions.
The Doctoral School's Quality Assurance System (SGIQ) to be evaluated next 4th and 5th July
This review and evaluation mechanism guarantees the academic quality of the university centres.
The UAB representative will participate in the "Thesis in 4 Minutes" competition of the FCRI
Gala Pujol Infantes, student of the PhD programme in Cell Biology, won first prize in this year's UAB "Thesis in 4 Minutes" competition. The award comes with a cash prize of 800 euros and the chance to represent the UAB at the final competition, organised by the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation, which will be held on 27 June in Tarragona. She explained her thesis with a presentation entitled "How to change the world with a paper straw".

Lucía Pallarés awarded a grant by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers
Lucía Pallarés, a student of the PhD programme in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering in the Department of Telecommunications and Systems Engineering at the UAB, received one of the grants awarded by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Pallarés is a member of the Signal Processing for Communications and Navigation (SPCOMNAV) research group.

The session "What can I do after my PhD?" will be held next Wednesday 21st June in the Doctoral School (Sala Carles de Perelló). This session is aimed at enlightening doctoral students in their last years about the next steps they can take to foster their careers.

The UAB to participate in two Euroepan MSCA doctoral training projects
Two of the projects recently awarded grants in the MSCA-Doctoral network 2023 call of the Horizon Europe programme will be conducted by the Department of Chemical, Biological and Environmental Engineering and by the Department of Physics. The call, which aims to train doctoral candidates through international, interdisciplinary and intersectorial projects, has awarded a total of 443 millio euros to 128 different projects.
