Beatriz Ferrús, catedràtica del Departament de Filologia Espanyola, ha estat nomenada nova directora de l'Escola de Doctorat de la UAB.

This new session will be held on the 26th February from 11 to 12 h and will be delivered in hybrid format.

The welcome session was held last 27th November.

This year, The UAB Doctoral School will host the annual meeting of the Catalan Association of Doctoral Schools (ACED).

Student of the PhD programme in Geography at the UAB María Paola Ayala Godoy has won the #HiloTesis contest and will receive a cash prize of 500 euros. Crue Universidades Españolas has awarded 5 other prizes to students.

This review and evaluation mechanism guarantees the academic quality of the university centres.

Gala Pujol Infantes, student of the PhD programme in Cell Biology, won first prize in this year's UAB "Thesis in 4 Minutes" competition. The award comes with a cash prize of 800 euros and the chance to represent the UAB at the final competition, organised by the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation, which will be held on 27 June in Tarragona. She explained her thesis with a presentation entitled "How to change the world with a paper straw".

The session, scheduled for July 18 at 1 pm, will be delivered via Teams.

Lucía Pallarés, a student of the PhD programme in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering in the Department of Telecommunications and Systems Engineering at the UAB, received one of the grants awarded by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Pallarés is a member of the Signal Processing for Communications and Navigation (SPCOMNAV) research group.

The session "What can I do after my PhD?" will be held next Wednesday 21^st June in the Doctoral School (Sala Carles de Perelló). This session is aimed at enlightening doctoral students in their last years about the next steps they can take to foster their careers.
