David Sánchez Carracedo and collaborators win the award for the best oral presentation
14th Congress of the Spanish Association for the Study of Eating Disorders (AEETCA) and the 18th Congress of the Hispanic-Latin American Chapter of the Academy for Eating Disorders.

Professor David Sánchez Carracedo, from the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, along with co-authors Dimitra Anastasiadou, Salomé Tárrega, Clara Almazán, and Albert Fornieles-Deu, has been awarded the prize for the best oral communication at the XIV Congress of the Spanish Association for the Study of Eating Disorders and the XVIII Congress of the Hispanic-Latin American Chapter of the Academy for Eating Disorders.
The communication, titled "Weight Stigma and Its Impact on Adolescents: Wb-Sad Project," stands out for its innovative contribution, providing the first prevalence data on weight stigma in the Spanish population, its sociodemographic determinants, and its effects on the health and well-being of adolescents.
This recognition highlights the significance of the Wb-Sad project, funded by the Ministry of Innovation and Universities, a longitudinal study conducted in Terrassa with a representative sample of over a thousand adolescents. Congratulations to the entire research team for this achievement and their contribution to advancing knowledge about weight stigma and its effects.
