The presence of the UAB in any of the social networks or communication channels of which it makes use does not in any way presuppose sharing the editorial line or other information contained in these networks or channels.

The objective of the UAB has always been its use to transfer scientific knowledge generated at the University, to combat misinformation with truthful and reliable contributions, and to promote the use of Catalan, in clear minority in a globalised world.

This is true both for the social network X and for any other channel that allowed to publicise the activities, regardless of the geographical origin or ideology of its ownership, with the only requirement that the platform in question respected the Digital Services Act (DSA) of the European Union.

However, the owners of this network have decided to make their political preferences explicit not only in terms of their own country's politics, but also those of other countries, especially when elections are held in those countries. These preferences, moreover, are far removed from the principles and values of the UAB. The more than reasonable suspicion that, on top of that, it may be manipulating public opinion when it is a network that has a sole and plenipotentiary owner, makes this situation even more dangerous.

Therefore, considering that this attitude is far from diminishing, but actually growing, the UAB has decided to stop using the social network X as long as its ownership does not cease with its interference and the promotion of attitudes that are far from respectful and socially responsible.
