Francesc Torres: Presentation of "La Campana Hermètica" and Talk with the Students of the History of Art Bachelor's Degree
The known artist Francesc Torres will meet the History of Art Bachelor's Degree students next Thursday, April 20th, to present his autobiographical book La campana Hermètica, published by Univers, of Grup Enciclopèdia.

Francesc Torres is a catalan-noth-american artist, born in Barcelona in the year 1948. He's been a pioneer of the videoart, he worked with sculpture, conceptual art, photography and multimedia installations, also in public spaces and performing arts. He lived in Paris, Chicago, New York San Francisco and Berlin, and he received many awards nationally and internationally. The critical reflection and the historical memory are some of his central themes. To make things more complicated, he also writes.
In his last work La Campana Hermètica, Francesc Torres starts his journey from an autobiographical piece exposed in MACBA and stares back, in order to give us some honest, subtancial and sharp memories that interwine his personal biography with the evolution of universal art and history. A lucid and critical gaze that, sometimes on sarcastic note, touches the great themes of contemporary thought and asserts personal and collective memories.
