Basic Statistics with IBM SPSS Statistics
The Basic Statistics with IBM SPSS Statistics Course will be held on January 15, 17, 19, 22, 24, 26, 29 and 31, 2024, from 10:00 to 12:00. This course will be conducted online - Streaming, through Teams platform.
Presentation:
IBM SPSS Statistics is a powerful statistical software. It offers a set of tools that allows us make a wide variety of statistical analyzes, via pull-down menus or programmed with the command syntax language.
Its ease of use, flexibility and adaptability make IBM SPSS Statistics software accessible to users with different abilities. In addition, the organization of the menus allows us to correctly identify the analysis to be performed, as well as the speed in obtaining the results.
This course introduces the basic concepts of database management and statistical analysis in order to provide a solid basis to undertake aa statistical analysis. Emphasis will be placed on the implementation and interpretation of the results in IBM SPSS Statistics.
This course will be conducted online - Streaming , through Teams platform in two-hour daily sessions. Attendees of this course must have their own access to the software IBM SPSS Statistics and a internet during the course.

Sesión 1: Introducción a IBM SPSS Statistics
- Introducción al IBM SPSS Statistics.
- Ventanas de trabajo.
- Crear una base de datos con IBM SPSS Statistics.
- Importación de ficheros de datos creados con otros softwares (formato texto, Excel, ...).
- Fusionar archivos.
Sesión 2: Gestión de bases de datos
- Introducción.
- Detección y corrección de errores.
- Ordenar casos e identificar casos duplicados.
- Creación de filtros y selección de casos.
- Segmentar archivo y Ponderar casos.
- Creación y recodificación de variables.
- Tratamiento de missings.
Sesión 3: Estadística descriptiva I
- Mirando los datos.
- Tipología de variables.
- Variables cualitativas.
- Variables cuantitativas.
- Representación gráfica.
Sesión 4: Estadística descriptiva II
- Estadística descriptiva bivariada.
- Dos variables cualitativas.
- Una variable cuantitativa y una variable cualitativa.

Sesión 5: Inferencia estadística para una población I
- Evidencias y Causalidad.
- Introducción a la Inferencia estadística.
- Estimación puntual.
- Estimación por Intervalo de Confianza.
Sesión 6: Inferencia estadística para una población II
- Pruebas de hipótesis: para una media, para una proporción, para una mediana y contraste de normalidad.
- Relación entre el Intervalo de Confianza y la Prueba de hipótesis.
- Significación estadística vs Relevancia científica.
Sesión 7: Inferencia estadística para dos poblaciones
- Inferencia paramétrica:
- Pruebas de hipótesis para dos muestras independientes.
- Pruebas de hipótesis para dos muestras relacionadas.
- Inferencia no paramétrica:
- Pruebas de hipótesis para dos muestras independientes.
- Pruebas de hipótesis para dos muestras relacionadas.
Sesión 8: Inferencia estadística para dos o más poblaciones
- Contraste de independencia de la Chi-cuadrado.
- Contraste sobre el coeficiente de correlación.
- Contraste de hipótesis para k medias.
- Contraste de hipótesis para k medianas.
Audience:
The Basic Statistics with IBM SPSS Statistics course is addressed to university students, teachers and professionals who want to acquire knowledge of Statistics, and who wish to introduce themselves to the use of this software to apply it in their area of knowledge and/or work.
The course will be carried out in virtual format in real time.
Previous requirements:
Previous knowledge of programs for processing databases and spreadsheets.

The Basic Statistics with IBM SPSS Statistics course will be held on January 2024, from 10:00 a 12:00, the days 15, 17, 19, 22, 24, 26, 29 and 31.
The course duration is 16 hours.
For the realization of the course, the minimum number of participants is 10 and maximum is 20.
