Call for papers for a special number for the year 2025

This special issue aims to explore perspectives that overcome the dichotomy between the local and global (Appadurai, 2006), as well as the isomorphism between space and culture (Gupta and Ferguson, 1992) and the opposite relationship between community and society (Tönnies, 1887). , as vectors of analysis to examine the diverse and complex interconnections embedded in broader global processes, rather than isolated or sedentary ones.
In this way, we expect contributions that are registered in the following sections:
Transnationalism: migration; mobilities; borders; formal and informal economies; networks.
Methods: Multi-situated ethnography; digital ethnography; Network analysis.
Identities: Ethnic identities; national identities; ethnicities.
Transportation: Transportation systems; telecommunications technologies;
Infrastructures; Materialities.
The texts can be written in Catalan, Spanish, French, English or Portuguese. A blind peer review of the articles is carried out and no fees or charges are charged for publication.
