Concession of the project "The construction of peace and the recovery of democratic memory in the Ribera de l'Ebre"
Grant of the project "The construction of peace and the recovery of democratic memory in the Ribera de l'Ebre", within the call for research grants Creu Casas Sicart of the Xarxa Vives d'Universitats and the Ramon Muntaner Institute, for research in the local and county areas that incorporate the transfer of knowledge.
The Center d'Estudis de la Ribera d'Ebre (CERE) has promoted this project with the research and training team formed by Virginia Fons and Julieta Olaso, professors in the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology at the UAB, and Sandra Ordoño, researcher in the Ethnology section of the CERE.
The project "The construction of peace and the recovery of democratic memory in the Ribera de l'Ebre" proposes to deepen, from an ethnographic perspective, the knowledge of the consequences of the Civil War and the dictatorship in the Ribera de the Ebro, building intergenerational spaces for reflection, social production and critical thinking.
On the one hand, the project will recover memory as an imperative of memories in danger of extinction, with the specificities of gender. And on the other hand, it will train the new generations to recover it, through workshops. Therefore, from a regional approach, the interest lies in analyzing Francoism, not as circumstances of the past, but as a collective, transversal and current experience.
