The project will be devoted to a study of the Can Puiggener neighbourhood of Sabadell, the smallest in terms of population, with a high cultural diversity and quite segregated from the urban area. It will be carried out by the EMIGRA research group and the Bosch i Cardellach Foundation, in its FBC-Lab line on issues of concern to the city.

The project team is made up of Silvia Carrasco and Teresa Tapada, professors in the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology at the UAB; Arnau Ribot, a graduate in anthropology and economics from the UAB; Marga Pérez-Costa, teacher and volunteer in social programs in the Can Puiggener neighbourhood, and Glòria Dalmau, historian and director of the Bosch i Cardellach Foundation.

The director of EMIGRA, Sílvia Carrasco, explains that "the social study of segregated urban environments that accumulate indicators of inequality and socio-demographic complexity must overcome miserabilist approaches and follow innovative and participatory models".

The study will include a small audiovisual as a way of raising awareness and feedback, and the results must be used to improve political and social actions.
