Surgery

The Surgery Teaching Unit, attached to the Department of Animal Medicine and Surgery of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Barcelona, carries out teaching, research and knowledge transfer tasks linked directly or indirectly to the field of veterinary surgery. With regard to teaching, the teaching staff of the Surgery Unit teaches the following subjects: Exploratory Methods, General Surgery and Anesthesiology, Medicine and Surgery of Company Animals I and II, Ophthalmology, Traumatology and Surgery, Clinical Hospital Rotation Veterinary and Advances in Equine Medicine and Surgery as well as different Postgraduate and Masters courses, among which the Postgraduate Diploma in Surgery and Anesthesia in Small Animals, the Clinical Master's in Small Animals and the Master's in Equine Physiotherapy stand out.

Regarding research and knowledge transfer, the Surgery Unit develops lines of research in the field of Traumatology, Ophthalmology, Soft Tissue Surgery and Anesthesia, Regenerative Medicine, Equine Biomechanics and Equine Surgery.
