The WE&H comes from the evolution of the Wildlife Ecopathology group coordinated by Prof. Santiago Lavín. This group is made up of an interdisciplinary team of professionals with different academic training and professional experiences who develop our professional activity in the field of health, management and conservation of wild fauna. Our group consists of two technical research support services: the Wildlife Ecopathology Service (SEFaS) dedicated to the diagnosis and ecology of diseases that affect wildlife and the Veterinary Clinical Hematology Service (SHCV) dedicated to the diagnosis of biological samples from laboratory animals, pets, rental animals and wild fauna. These services, located in the Veterinary Faculty of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), have facilitated direct contact with diseases that affect wildlife and their management. We are recognized experts and are part of both national and international networks with the aim of mitigating and preventing the impact of global change on the health of wildlife.
