SMARTFARM

Presentation of the project

To study the genetic components and the intestinal microbiome for the improvement of the productive characteristics of pig cattle. This is why second and third generation massive genotyping (GWAS) and sequencing (NGS) techniques will be used. The ultimate goal is to obtain a low-density SNP chip to predict the efficiency of selection candidates for genomic selection or direct selection of animals (pure and/or commercial line and with the ability to identify genetics for product traceability.

Participants: Hendrix Genetics S.A.U., Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.

Technical coordinator of the project: Hendrix Genetics S.A.U.
