The UAB will show its entrepreneurial and innovative capacity at 4 Years From Now (4YFN), the fair for emerging companies that takes place under the umbrella of the Mobile World Congress (MWC). At stand 1C60.1 in hall 8, the University will give visibility to seven spin-off companies that have mobile and digital technologies for the logistics, animal health, big data, energy or mobility sectors. They are the following:

  • AEInnova: company derived from the School of Engineering that develops technologies for the production of electrical energy through the recovery of residual heat. It will present an autonomous sensor device to monitor industrial facilities, which works without the need to be connected to the electricity grid or integrate a battery; it is fed by the residual heat of the same machinery.
  • Allread: company founded by researchers from the University and the Computer Vision Center that has developed a pioneering system for the detection and intelligent reading of codes and texts using artificial vision algorithms for ports and terminals.
  • Aslogic: derivative company specialized in the development of decision support systems. His solutions are based on his solid background in metaheuristics, machine learning techniques, and optimization to obtain maximum performance in complex scenarios.
  • AWEC: company founded by research staff from the Department of Animal Science and Food that has created an acoustic sensor to detect vocalizations of dairy cows and thus be able to monitor the welfare of the animals.
  • BDCare: offers big data analysis services and solutions to companies and institutions, especially for health and medical research of rare diseases.
  • Distinkt: company of the UAB, the ICN2 and the CSIC recently created to commercialize an intelligent ink based on nanotechnology, which makes it possible to combat the forgery of official documents, tickets or luxury products, among others.
  • MassFactory: technology-based company born from the School of Engineering that develops systems based on mobile applications for urban accessibility and mobility.

In addition to the companies, entrepreneurial projects that have been developed within the AI4ALL program «Artificial intelligence applied to industry», promoted by the UAB Research Park, the UAB School of Engineering, will also be announced. the Computer Vision Center and the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute of the CSIC.

The stand will also teach R+D+I technologies and projects in the sector developed by University research staff; for example, smart displays sensitive to multiple stimuli, a technology for neuromorphic computers, a system of location and information of underground trenches and pipelines, a data compressor for nanosatellites or technologies of positioning or detection of mobile terminals.

You can consult the catalog of projects and the agenda of the UAB stand on this website.
