WINTERREISE Lieder de Franz Schubert sobre poemes de Wilhelm Müller
We are pleased to invite you to a special cultural event, co-financed by our department and organized by the Area of German Studies, the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and the Department of Musicology, which will take place next Wednesday 15 March at 1 p.m. at the time slot of campus activities.
In 1824 the romantic poet Wilhelm Müller published a book of poems and in the autumn of 1827 Franz Schubert set this cycle of songs to music to be sung with piano accompaniment. Miquel Desclot recently translated this poetic cycle into Catalan.
At the event on March 15 in the Faculty Auditorium, Miquel Desclot will present some of the poems from the Winterreise-cycle and explain the task, the difficulties, and the art of translating them into Catalan, accompanied by two musicians of international renown, the pianist Eudald Buch and the baritone Ferran Albrich.
