ICTA-UAB will be hosting a workshop at ICTA-UAB focusing on urban agriculture and its potential positive impacts at building and city level.

ICTA-UAB SUMMER SCHOOL SOSTENIPRA URBAN AGRICULTURE

The Summer School will took place on June 27 and 28. During the first day of the workshop, several case studies related to the positive aspects that urban agriculture can contribute to the water-energy-carbon link will be presented. On the second day, we will have the opportunity to visit the experimental greenhouse on the campus of the Technical University of Catalonia in Terrassa, as well as a hydroponic garden located in social housing in Barcelona. After the visit, a debate session will be held where we will discuss strategies applicable to the urban farms visited during the morning.

This workshop aims at predoctoral, postdoctoral and senior researchers, and is subject to registration through this link. Registration will be open until June 14, 2024.

The activities of the first day will run from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (lunch and coffee break included) and on the second day, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

This event has received funding from the Ministry of Science and Innovation under the grant MOVE4EDU (Modular ventilation system for educational buildings integrated with urban food production MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033/FEDER) and WEF4Build (Boosting Buildings Climate Resilience Through Water-Food-Energy Nexus Based Solution (WEF4Build) AGAUR 2023 CLIMA 00041.
